IBM and SAP just announced a collaboration to deliver accelerated digital transformation, leverage the SAP intelligent suite as well as SAP Cloud and on-premise solutions and decrease time to SAP S/4HANA migration, all while extending and enhancing SAP solutions. Red Hat Integration is at the heart of the side-by-side extensibility solutions from SAP, specifically Red Hat Fuse and Red Hat 3scale API Management.
How can Red Hat Fuse and 3scale API Management help extend your SAP environments?
Red Hat Integration provides multiple options to extend your SAP landscape and integrate other non-SAP systems and processes into a scalable, modernized solution.
Red Hat Fuse is an integration platform allowing developers to connect and integrate with SAP in several ways. Using Apache Camel components like camel-sap (JCo), camel-olingo2 and camel-olingo4, you can create bi-directional communication with SAP HANA and applications and create a development environment that does not require you to be an SAP expert.
Red Hat Fuse also has multiple deployment options which enables increased flexibility of solutions for SAP. Red Hat is the leader in hybrid cloud and Red Hat Fuse is certainly no exception. You can create your integrations for on-premise or cloud native environments and run them across multiple platforms without having to rewrite. Additionally, Red Hat Fuse Online is a Red Hat OpenShift based UI that enables your citizen end user to create and publish their own integrations with SAP and hundreds of other data sources in an easy-to-use interface.
3scale API Management has won a number of industry awards, including several CODiE awards from the prestigious Software & Information Industry Association as well as from API World. These and other organizations recognize differentiating features in 3scale API Management like finely-grained administrative control and the unique and varied options for deployment that allow for high availability and flexibility of design to tailor to any customer’s use case.
3scale API Management can consume, manage and monitor SAP APIs deployed to SAP Business Hub due to the extensive support for and Red Hat engineering leadership of the OpenAPI specification. This means you can create OData endpoints for SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, ABAP environments via SAP Gateway or other cloud-based SAP systems like SuccessFactors or Ariba and manage them as APIs in 3scale API Management for the full API-lifecycle. Red Hat Fuse and 3scale API Management are tightly integrated as well. An API created in Red Hat Fuse can be auto-discovered and managed by 3scale API Management without additional effort.
What’s next?
We at Red Hat are so excited to be a part of the powerful IBM Evolution platform and this collaboration with SAP. IBM chose Red Hat Fuse and 3scale API Management for their platform because of the ability of these solutions to give their customers the best user experience, value and flexibility in the marketplace. We look forward to solving your unique challenges as you look to integrate your SAP, non-SAP systems and processes.
