Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that FI-TS has created one of the world’s biggest single instance systems for SAP® Bank Analyzer applications running with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization. The end-to-end solution FI-TS Cloud, consisting of servers, operating system, applications, network, storage and virtualization in the form of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, is highly scalable, available and can flexibly adapt to changing requirements. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 has certified integration with the SAP NetWeaver® platform.
Red Hat has been successfully collaborating with FI-TS for several years now, and with FI-TS Cloud, from build-out to deployment, they have relied on Red Hat Enterprise Linux from the outset.
FI-TS developed and tested its FI-TS Cloud first on standard x86 servers and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. In doing so, its goal was to set up a low-cost, high-performance and scalable alternative to the proprietary systems that were previously used as standard for SAP applications. Red Hat Enterprise Linux meets FI-TS’ requirements by achieving better performance than the previous proprietary environment at a lower total cost of ownership. In combination with Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Red Hat Enterprise Linux provides the kind of high reliability and performance that financial services providers require to efficiently operate their business-critical SAP applications.
A compelling advantage of the FI-TS Cloud, which runs solely in German data centers, is its quick and simplified deployment of additional IT resources thanks to Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization. The IT service provider sets up its operations based on the IT industrialization model. Most of its IT processes are now fully automated, while a smaller fraction remains customizable to the customer’s needs. This results in cost optimizations that contribute significantly to an increase in FI-TS’s competitiveness.
FI-TS is a subsidiary of Finanz Informatik (FI) and offers professional IT services for the financial and insurance industry. The established outsourcing partner has many years of IT experience, industry expertise, technological proficiency, and consulting competence. Custom services are aimed at optimizing IT costs and making banks, financial institutions and insurance companies more efficient in order to deliver tangible competitive advantages. Fulfilling current governance requirements and consistently implementing modern security and quality requirements is a matter of course for the IT provider. Learn more at: www.f-i-ts.de.
