Get ready to transform your integration approach with the latest Red Hat build of Apache Camel 4, a part of Red Hat Application Foundations.

Modern enterprise integration comes with its fair share of challenges. From diverse data sources to complex workflows, businesses need a robust enterprise integration solution that can effectively enable connecting applications to new and legacy systems via various standard and inhouse protocols, policies and formats under high performance demands and resource constraints.

The Red Hat build of Apache Camel 4 is a versatile development toolkit for streamlined application integration that simplifies and standardizes the practices of connecting diverse systems. With its modular, component-based architecture and intuitive interfaces, it offers a powerful toolset for enterprise integration tasks.

Red Hat actively participates in the Apache Camel community to develop new innovative enterprise integration technologies and connectors. With a large and engaged community, Apache Camel 4 provides a more seamless integration experience in the most popular Java application frameworks—Quarkus 3 and Spring Boot 3—and collaborates on more than 300 Camel community components for a wide range of integration needs.

The Red Hat build of Apache Camel 4 brings over 100 hardened components, tailored to simplify and enhance your system integrations. In the latest release we added support for XSLT Saxon, NettyHTTP, SAP, Splunk, Mapstruct, Micrometer and more.

Examples of popular pre-built components include:

  1. APIs: REST-OpenAPI, SOAP web services, gRPC
  2. Storage: SQL, JPA, JTA, JDBC, MyBatis, MinIO, File, FTP
  3. Business: LDAP, Jira, SAP, Salesforce
  4. Messaging: JMS, AMQP, MQTT, Kafka
  5. Monitoring: Micrometer, Splunk, OpenTelemetry
  6. Scheduling: Cron, Timer, Quartz, Scheduler
  7. Cloud services: AWS, Azure, and Google
  8. Data mapping and transformation: XSLT, JSLT, Bindy, Mapstruct

Application developers can use a suite of advanced integration design patterns which helps standardize complex tasks like data handling, synchronization and routing, while also providing more robust solutions for error handling, service management and system efficiency.

This release enables developers to focus more on defining integration flows and less on managing setup tasks. By utilizing Camel CLI, developers can quickly prototype and run new routes, debug and iterate integrations. Once set, this makes it easier to export the work to Quarkus or Spring Boot projects.

Implementing distributed architectures presents a unique set of challenges. Red Hat build of Apache Camel on Red Hat OpenShift offers an agile approach for building and maintaining application integrations in Kubernetes and knative (serverless) services.

Red Hat Application Foundations for Enterprise Integration helps you keep your applications modern, efficient and compatible with emerging industry standards. With the Red Hat build of Apache Camel, Red Hat AMQ Broker and Red Hat build of Apicurio Registry, this makes a viable enterprise integration suite for migrating from the Red Hat Fuse integration platform. Red Hat Services is ready to help you accelerate your migration from Red Hat Fuse to newer versions of Camel with automation that handles your custom routes.
