It’s finally here! Red Hat Summit 2019 kicks off today and we’re really excited to share what we’ve been working on since last year’s Summit. Here’s a quick overview of some of the things to look forward to at Red Hat Summit.
Schedule at a Glance
Registration for Red Hat Summit began on Monday, but if you’re not yet registered you can do so bright and early at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) on Tuesday at 7 a.m., and then launch into training, breakout sessions, or other activities. Mealtimes and general session times are listed in this table, for specific times of labs, breakouts and other sessions, see the session catalog.
General Session
Doors open at 5:45 p.m. in Hall C of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, so grab a seat and get ready! Jim Whitehurst will start us off with the topic “Nothing expands possibilities like collaboration.” Jim will be joined on the big stage by Red Hat’s Denise Dumas, vice president, Operating System Platform, and Stefanie Chiras, vice president and general manager, Red Hat Enterprise Linux. We’ll also have John Allessio, senior vice president of Global Services and Enablement on the mainstage.
They will be joined by customers and partners ranging from Delta Air Lines, Deutsche Bank, ExxonMobil, Microsoft, and Volkswagen AG. You won’t want to miss these stories and insights from these leaders. Following the general session we open the doors to the Ecosystem Expo and have a chance to meet and greet exhibitors and Red Hat Summit attendees.
Cool Stuff Store
You may have heard, we’ve gotten a new look. If you want to get some gear with the new Red Hat logo, stop by the Cool Stuff Store in the BCEC. We’ll be offering hats, shirts, backpacks, and other fun and useful gear so you can stock up and show off the new look.
Expo Hall
The Expo Hall opens at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and closes at 10 p.m. Make sure you stop by the Red Hat Booth (#649), to discuss business challenges and get your questions answered at the “Ask Me Anything” space.
The Customer Success Zone is located at booth #445, stop by to chat with our services and support folks and find out about our consulting, training, certification, technical support, and more.
Community Central is a perennial favorite at Red Hat Summit. Find some of the upstream projects that are used in Red Hat’s products at booth #134, and learn how you might contribute. Projects appearing at Community Central include Fedora, CentOS, RDO, oVirt, Ansible, OKD, and a number of emerging communities.
Developers will want to make a beeline for our DevZone in the Expo Hall, located at Booth #124. Watch technical demos, ask questions, and find spaces dedicated to Red Hat CodeReady, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat Middleware, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Get ready for tomorrow
Wednesday’s agenda is jam-packed, so don’t overdo it on day one. Especially if you’re going to join us bright and early for the Red Hat Summit 2019 5K Fun Run. The run starts at 6:00 a.m. but organizers ask that participants show up at 5:30 a.m. to be prepared to run through Boston. Registration is now closed online, but we are accepting walk-ins on Wednesday, so you can still get those steps in with other running Red Hatters.
