The Next Generation of AI/ML Application Development; Embracing the Container Revolution
Ian Lawson
Thursday, June 16, 2022 | 10:10 a.m. BST
In this rapidly changing society we need a way to quickly, efficiently and powerfully experiment with AI/ML concepts and systems. The revolution of Containers has brought a new facet into the equation; the ability to rapidly build, test and repeat AI/ML applications extremely easily while efficiently using compute resources.
This talk will present an overview and demo of the ways in which Containers can be easily used to build AI-centric applications, allowing data-scientists to spend more of their time experimenting and less time setting up complex systems.
AI/ML Powered Healthcare Using Open Source
Guillaume Moutier
Wednesday, June 15, 2022 | 2:00 p.m. BST
Training and creating an AI/ML model is only the first, and believe it or not, maybe the easiest step in the model lifecycle. It is only by considering the whole lifecycle of the model (data gathering, deployment, monitoring, retraining,...) that you will be able to put the model to valuable use in production.
In industries, such as healthcare, where speed, reproducibility and security take a prominent role, applying the right architecture patterns, using the right tools, and most of all being able to constantly evolve your solution are the keys to success.
In this session we will:
- See how Red Hat pragmatically approaches AI/ML solutions or platforms, along with partners and Open Source projects,
- Walk you through different projects and examples we have worked on this past year (such as automated sepsis detection, or a shared data science platform for a Covid-19 research team), allowing AI/ML approaches to be used by healthcare professionals in their daily practice, both for Clinics and Research.

Smart City: an automated edge-to-core data pipeline implementation!
Wednesday, June 15, 2022 | 11:15 a.m. BST
Guillaume Moutier
Data is the force driving digital transformation and organizations’ new services and capabilities. The broadness of Red Hat’s portfolio, from storage to platforms and middleware, helps to support the whole lifecycle of the data throughout its acquisition, transformation, storage, and consumption.
In this demo you’ll see how to create a data pipeline that uses Computer Vision to extract in real-time licence plate information at toll locations, transfer the streaming data to a core datacenter where it is enriched and stored to provide real-time overview of traffic, and analyze historical data on a large scale using a distributed query engine, with reports and dashboards.
CUSTOMER STORIES
ROYAL BANK OF CANADA
Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and its AI research institute Borealis AI have partnered with Red Hat and NVIDIA to develop a new AI computing platform designed to transform the customer banking experience and help keep pace with rapid technology changes and evolving customer expectations.
BMW
The BMW Group needs to access, analyze, and apply large amounts of data collected from sensors used during road tests to support its automated vehicle initiatives. Created by DXC Technology using Red Hat software, the BMW Group’s new data platform helped the group reduce development time with faster, more accurate driving simulations and data analytics.
HCA HEALTHCARE
HCA Healthcare, one of the largest healthcare service providers in the United States, uses data and technology to support modern healthcare. A cross-functional team of clinicians, data scientists, and technology professionals at HCA Healthcare used Red Hat solutions to create a real-time predictive analytics product system to more accurately and rapidly detect sepsis, a potentially life-threatening condition.
BOSTON'S CHILDRENS HOSPITAL
Red Hat collaborated with Boston Children’s Hospital to deploy the ChRIS Research Integration Service, a web-based medical image platform developed using Red Hat technologies, on the Massachusetts Open Cloud (MOC). The platform provides a distributed user interface that is designed to enable real-time collaboration between clinicians and radiologists around the world.
