As everyone prepares for this year’s Red Hat Summit in Boston, let’s briefly go over what you can expect to learn from strategic partner and platinum sponsor, IBM.
IBM has been a long-time champion of open source. In the late 1990s, the IBM software team began its move to adopt the Linux operating system, recognizing its potential to offer an entirely new way of creating mission-critical enterprise software. Sharing this vision and drive to progress open source technology, Red Hat and IBM then began a working relationship that has evolved over the course of two decades to yield its current solution architecture around advances in cloud and infrastructure.
With a current focus on partnering to accelerate app modernization and cloud-native development, IBM and Red Hat share three important beliefs:
1. It’s a hybrid world.
2. Containers are strategic.
3. Innovation is the path forward.
IBM Chairman, President, and CEO Ginni Rometty will join Red Hat President and CEO Jim Whitehurst on stage for his keynote at Red Hat Summit 2019 to discuss the future of technology, making mission-critical applications more secure, and their companies’ continued investment in their long-standing collaboration.
IBM and Red Hat are positioned to accelerate hybrid cloud adoption. This means helping organizations create cloud-native business applications more quickly. This means driving greater portability and improving security of data and applications across multiple public and private clouds. And this means enabling consistent cloud management. In doing so, IBM and Red Hat will draw on their shared leadership in key technologies, such as Linux, containers, Kubernetes, multicloud management, and cloud management and automation.
When you look at the goals of each company, it’s not hard to see why the portfolio of solutions made available through their long-standing collaboration is appealing to enterprises today. IBM and Red Hat have partnered to create more secure end-to-end solutions that empower developers and enterprises to meet business demands.
As you can see, 2019 is an exciting year for IBM, for Red Hat, and for the next stage of enterprise-grade open source technologies. Now let’s get ready to continue this conversation at Red Hat Summit; please join us in booth #910.
